Where are my products being shipped from?

Hawaii, USA.

Can I place an order without creating an account?

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account.

However, it is recommend that you create an account if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time.

When will my order ship?

Currently, it can take anywhere from 2-7 days to process general online orders. If your order contains a MADE TO ORDER product, it can take up to 14 days to process your order. Please read this article for clarification.

After that, it's in the hands of the postal system! All orders come with tracking, and you will receive the tracking number in an email as soon as the shipping label is created.

How much is shipping and isn't it quite high?

Shipping fee is dependent on the current cost to ship out from Hawaii, USA via USPS.

Due to the nature of operating out in Hawaii, cost of shipping out tend to be higher than most of the other states. Options currently available are First-Class, Ground Advantage, and Priority Mail as they all provide tracking with all orders made.

Do you ship internationally?

My business is based in the U.S.
So, if your shipping address is in a different country, you are considered INTERNATIONAL.

United States, U.S. Territories, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guinea, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Venezuela, Vietnam.

If your country is not currently listed above, please bare with me as I am a single individual and need time to logistically understand what it will take to ship to other countries in the future.

The following are very important disclaimers that you must know if you are an INTERNATIONAL customer.
This section looks scary, but it is super important!

Please carefully read everything below:

  1. Shipping fees are will be added to your cart total here on our website when you checkout. Please understand that international shipping costs are always higher compared to domestic packages and also take a longer time to ship/deliver.
  2. When your package arrives in your country, it might get held at a CUSTOMS OFFICE and you may have to pay an ADDITIONAL FEE in order to receive it. This is determined and charged by your country’s government and because the laws vary around the world, we can’t pre-determine how much the fee will be (if you are charged one).
  3. We will do our best to help with the fees where we can. But at the end of the day I am a small business in Hawaii.
  4. If you know that your country’s custom office requires detailed information about your package (item value, size, weight) in order to receive it, please email us right away so we can get that info to you!

Do not order if you are not prepared to potentially needing to contact your country’s customs office and paying additional fees if it’s required.
If you order from our website, you are confirming that you understand this risk and are accepting this responsibility as the customer.

These disclaimers are on the website to warn you of these potential extra steps that will be required of you if you choose to order and will not refund orders if the only reasoning is this fee.

As a reminder, shipping fees is not something that, as a business, we profit from. It is the cost required by the postal services that we use.
These tax/import/customs fees are also not money that we keep. If you are charged these fees, it is money that is going directly to your country’s governments based on their laws.

Understandably this may be unfortunate news to some of you, but it is not something can be changed or avoided.

What are MADE TO ORDER products?

Any products marked with the MADE TO ORDER label is a product that is lovingly made by hand. Inventory is not tracked as it is based on the overall material that I have available on hand for products that use the same material(s). Production time for these products can take up to 14 days. This is based on turnaround time to handmake these products and the demand. If there is ever a case of MADE TO ORDER products become unavailable for purchase, these are the reasons why:

  1. Work Overload – Michi Otaku Studio is operated by a single individual and an overload of orders may happen. To prevent orders from being delayed, MADE TO ORDER products will be temporarily unavailable until the workload is deemed under control.
  2. Lack of Material – Materials for MADE TO ORDER products are mostly sourced via Amazon.com. Supply availability from the Manufacturers/Sellers always fluctuate and may affect my product availability based on the demand.

What are PERSONALIZED products?

Any products marked with the PERSONALIZED label is a product that requires additional communication. You will have 3 days, after placing your order, to initiate the conversation via Contact form or email (michiotaku.studio@gmail.com) providing your Order Number as verification. If the 3 days have passed, you will be sent an email instead. However, once 7 days have passed from the day the order has been placed with no communication, your ENTIRE order will be cancelled, and you will be notified after. You will then have to place an entirely new order if you would like the purchase the product(s).
